REFLECTIONS

When reflecting an object across the x-axis, the only thing you change is the sign of the y-value.

Example: Reflect the following set of points across the x-axis.

A (-4,5) B (-3,9) C (-3,6)

The y-values in the example above are positive. Change them all into negative values.

Here are the coordinates after our reflection:

A'(-4,-5) B'(-3,-9) C'(-3,-6)

When reflecting points across the y-axis, only change the sign of the x-values.
